1. Bavaria – Land of Music and Beer

Bavaria is known as the largest state in Germany with Munich being the capital and largest city of the state. Bavaria consists of three regions: Alt Bayern, Franconia and Bavarian Swabia, all with their own distinct languages, customs and cultures. Culture is strong in Bavaria, with four state theatres and 17 cities with their own bands, art museums and even the Bayreuth Wagner Festival. It is also famous for its well-preserved folk music tradition and the Munich Oktoberfest. 

Although it was once an agricultural area, Bavaria is now one of the most industrialized regions in Europe. Munich is home to the headquarters of the BMW car company, while Audi is headquartered in Ingolstadt. Bavaria is also home to the headquarters of the famous sportswear company Adidas.

2. Rhineland-Palatinate – Land of Wine and Beauty

The main economic sectors include tourism, industry, agriculture and forestry. With six major wine-growing regions, Rhineland-Palatinate is Germany's leading wine producer.

3. Berlin – Capital of Culture and History

5. Saxony – Land of Art

Saxony is located in the east of Germany and is considered the art capital of Germany. Saxony thrives in tourism, attracting not only international visitors but also local artists and residents. 

Saxony's international reputation is based on traditional crafts including wood carving in the Erzgebirge mountains, Vogtland musical instruments, Meissen porcelain, Plauen wool and Glashütte clocks. It is also considered a land of music, so there is a strong emphasis on supporting music.
