How much money do I need to prove to have enough money to study vocational training in Germany?

Does studying in Germany need financial proof? Students participating in vocational training programs in Germany need to prove their financial capacity through a valid calculation, the amount of money specified by the Embassy. The calculation of the total amount of financial proof will be based on two specific cases as follows:

Case 1: Already have German B2 certificate

Students with a B2 German certificate have full conditions for vocational study in Germany. In this case, the student does not incur any costs for the B2 certificate course in Germany, and during the training process, the student is supported by the enterprise with a monthly internship salary according to the pre-signed vocational training contract. Therefore, the amount of money the student proves to have is the difference in the vocational training process.

If the internship salary is 929 Euro/month or more (after tax), international students do not need to prove financial resources. In case the internship salary is less than 929 Euro/month (after tax), international students need to make up the shortfall to prove financial resources according to the Embassy's requirements.

Case 2: No German B2 certificate yet

International students who only have a B1 German certificate in Vietnam are required to take a 6-month German course to obtain a B2 certificate in Germany before officially joining the vocational training program. In this case, the calculation of the financial proof fee is as follows:

Financial proof money = Living expenses + German B2 tuition fee + difference in fees during apprenticeship.

For example:

German B2 certificate tuition fee: 861 × 6 = 5,166 Euro

Blocked account opening fee: 155 Euro

International students study mechanical engineering for 3 years, receive salary:

  • First year receive 800 Euro/month: (929 – 800) x 12 = 1,548 Euro
  • 2nd year receive 850 Euro/month: (929 – 850) x 12 = 948 Euro
  • 3rd year receive 900 Euro/month: (929 – 900) x 12= 348 Euro

=> The total difference in the apprenticeship is: 2,844 Euros

Thus, the amount of money international students must prove during their apprenticeship in Germany is: 5,166 + 155 + 2,844 = 8,165 Euros.
However, for those students who choose SHD Academy As a companion on your journey to study a vocational course in Germany, you will be able to study the B2 course for free in parallel with your vocational training. Therefore, parents and students can be completely assured about the costs incurred during the process of studying and working in Germany.
